Climate change challenges to the safety of nuclear installations

Climate change is considered one of the key global concerns and threats that many countries and leaders trying to address and work together to develop and implement a long-term sustainable goals.
Climate change can also have an impact on the safety of many existing and future nuclear installations and facilities around the world due to the unpredictability of weather conditions, rise of sea water, global warming and other extreme weather conditions such as hurricane and storms.
The international nuclear community needs to seriously address such matter and cooperate to ensure the long term protection of nuclear facilities from the impact of climate change
In this session, prominent international experts will discuss the current measures taken to prevent and mitigate the effects of climate change on the safety of nuclear facilities and the need for a greater international cooperation to ensure a long term protection of nuclear facilities from the possible impact of climate change.
