Clean industrial practices are becoming increasingly important as the European Union rolls out its Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and supports member countries’ economic competitiveness in international markets. As an alternative to fossil fuels, small modular reactors (SMRs) can provide clean, reliable baseload energy to power heavy industrial processes, including clean steel manufacturing. This panel discussion will focus on the US-led efforts to support decarbonization of hard-to-abate energy sectors with SMRs.
