This will be the second youth-led climate forum at COP, following the recommendation of paragraph 65 in the Glasgow Climate Pact, which provides children and youth with the opportunity to share policy priorities on directly with decision-makers. The final takeaway event for the forum will synthesize priorities, outcomes and next steps from the dialogues.
The youth stocktake process was launched at SB58, in a flagship event hosted by COP28 Presidency, Youth Climate Champion and YOUNGO. The aim of this process is to collect the progress, and lack thereof, of youth inclusion and policy implementation, alongside the conclusion of the first global stocktake. This event will be a platform to present the findings of the first ever youth stocktake and propose ways to enhance youth inclusion in the UNFCCC process.
