Water is a critical UN SDG in the climate change narrative. Abu Dhabi is committed to accelerating the energy transition, focusing on advanced desalination facilities with innovative, decarbonised solutions. Leading experts in the field will convene in a panel to discuss the potential of desalination and water reuse to combat water scarcity and climate change pressures on the water ecosystem. The panelists will demonstrate how Abu Dhabi, the UAE and wider region is positioned as a global leader in water solutions, championing excellence on an international scale. Addressing Water Scarcity through desalination and reuse will be the main theme when Abu Dhabi, led by the Department of Energy, will host the International Desalination and Reuse (IDRA) World Congress in December 2024. It will be the biggest global water congress the UAE will host in Abu Dhabi next year.
