Expanding energy access in tandem with developing clean energy resources could offer African countries the opportunity to ‘leapfrog’ advancement and clean energy systems, but doing so will require the use of clean energy technologies with baseload capacity, innovative investment strategies, and partnerships to develop and deploy emerging technologies at scale.
