A Renewed Climate Finance Architecture for Africa
Expanding energy access in tandem with developing clean energy resources could offer African countries the opportunity to ‘leapfrog’ advancement and clean energy systems, but doing so will require the use of clean energy technologies with baseload capacity, innovative investment strategies, and partnerships to develop and deploy emerging technologies at scale. To what extent is ‘leapfrogging’ possible in African nations, given the financial investment necessary? What resources and partnerships will be most critical to enabling innovative green infrastructure in developing countries? What role could green hydrogen, considered as one of the most innovative and cleanest energies in the world, play?
