Forest & Climate Leaders' Partnership Ministerial Meeting

A major outcome of COP27, the Forest & Climate Leaders’ Partnership will convene ministers at COP28 to present progress on ending deforestation by 2030 per the Glasgow Leaders’ Declaration on Forests and Land Use, as well as introduce their vision and deliverables for 2024. The discussions will notably focus on mechanisms to promote an inclusive rural transformation that benefits local and indigenous communities. The event will elaborate the commitments made by Leaders at the World Climate Action Summit (1-2 December).

WORLD CLIMATE ACTION SUMMIT

The World Climate Action Summit convenes heads of state and government, alongside leaders from civil society, business, youth, Indigenous Peoples’ organizations, frontline communities, science, and other sectors to discuss concrete actions and plans aimed at scaling climate action. The summit serves as an important platform for major announcements and is intended to provide momentum and guidance to the remainder of the COP.
