Global Conference on Gender- Environment Data

Organizers: COP28, UN Women, UNFCCC, Women’s Environment & Development Organization (WEDO), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)

This conference will feature new and enhanced gender and environment data approaches to understand and act on women’s and girls’ experience of climate change. As a technical conference with high-level segments, it is intended to provide both the tools and political commitment for more effective more effective produce and use of gender and environment data to inform gender-responsive climate policy implementation and increased finance flows for women and girls.

How are speakers and participants selected? What do they need to bring to the table?
Speakers and participants will include UN Agencies, government officials and policy makers, leaders and commitment makers of the Feminist Action for Climate Justice Action Coalition and the Gender and Environment Data Alliance, private foundations and civil society organizations, as well as feminist researchers and economists.

WORLD CLIMATE ACTION SUMMIT

The World Climate Action Summit convenes heads of state and government, alongside leaders from civil society, business, youth, Indigenous Peoples’ organizations, frontline communities, science, and other sectors to discuss concrete actions and plans aimed at scaling climate action. The summit serves as an important platform for major announcements and is intended to provide momentum and guidance to the remainder of the COP.
